Hi guys, thank you for taking the time to read.
I recently bought a new CPU, GPU, RAM, and Motherboard from Scan.co.uk. All components work, and are compatible. I put it all together with my old PSU and HDD and the computer was working fine for a day and a half. It then froze while i was quicksaving while playing Total War Atilla and after a few minutes, the computer reset itself and went straight to the BSOD after BIOS.
The temperatures were fine and i had not attempted to OC.
I ran seatools to test my HDD and it couldnt recognize my HDD despite my HDD being recognized in my BIOS.
I also ran Memtest and found over 1000 errors in both sticks of RAM, which was also coupled with "CPU error: Could not start CPU 0" and wouldnt get past pass 1/4, however, it got over 1000 errors in pass 1 anyway. So i sent it back to scan and they ran tests and they said it was indeed faulty and sent me new ones.
I installed these new RAM components and got the same BSOD. So i ran memtest and over 4000 errors on each sticks again. So i thought this cant be, RAM is incredibly reliable so it must be another component giving these false readings. I therefore sent the RAM, CPU and Motherboard back to scan for them to measure. They returned my items and said that they ran tests on them and they were all working fine.
I therefore contacted them asking why my computer was not working if these components are fine, and we came to the conclusion that it must be either the PSU or the HDD. And seeing as the HDD was not being picked up by Seatools, i figured it would be that. But incase it was the PSU and it was frying my items, it was best to run the computer with the bare minimum being the CPU, Motherboard and RAM which are all protected by my surge-free motherboard.
So, i got my items back today and put in the RAM (both sticks, and then only one stick), CPU (with fan), Motherboard and PSU, booted it and it isnt triggering the monitor to turn on past standby. I therefore cant see what i'm dealing with.
Putting the computer together I:
-Installed PSU
-Installed Motherboard
-Installed CPU, thermal paste and fan
-Installed RAM
-Connected fan cable to motherboard
-Connected all the hd, Led, power cables (those little tiny cables that are a nightmare)
-Connected the CPU power supply to motherboard
-Connected the PSU's general cable to the Motherboard (that big long one)
It turns on fine, all fans and LEDs rotate/turn on. But wont trigger the monitor. I have tried two different monitors, have tried hdmi and dvi ports in both the motherboard socket and even installed the GPU and put it through there, but still no luck. I have also tried resetting the BIOS but still nothing.
What could this be? And do you have any advise to the general situation im in? My apologies for the long amounts of text, i simply try to be as informative as possible to save your time of asking me questions. My build is below.
Motherboard: Asus Prime B250-PRO Mobo
GPU: 6G EVGA GTX1060 SSC GAMING ACX
CPU: Intel Core I5 7600K S1151
PSU: Corsair CP-9020048-UK CX 600W Power Supply
RAM: 2x4GB Cors V LPX Red DDR4-2133
HDD: 2TB Seagate ST2000DM006 SATA3 (not installed yet)
P.S. The retard who sent me my package back when testing my CPU didnt put it in it's box properly and arrived to me outside of it's protector case and was rattling around the box. The CPU seems pretty sturdy to me and hard to break but is it possible it may have broken in the delivery, by physical or static damage?
