Solution

If you are denied again it will be because you have a OEM key code and not retail. OEM codes will work with retail disks, that main difference is the Key code limits how many machines the code can be used on.

Maybe you know someone that has a disk you could borrow? you don't need there code just the disk for installation.

The Microsoft number usually pops up when the authentication fails but I will try to track it down for you.

EDIT: windows does not show the number to call on there site, they have it blurred out. You will need to install the OS then try to activate first to get the number. The OS will provide the number...

Yes, I would have come to the same conclusion, also with the win key at microsoft website you must make sure you had selected the right edition of windows i.e. home, pro for that key to work.

the best time to put the key in is in setup when it asks for it, that way microsoft verify it & it does not say "this is not genuine windows" then in 3 days activation is automatic....& happens within seconds.

As forthe Ahci driver, you would load this in at the formatting screen of windows install from a dongle or disk or hard drive, but you would need to find the .inf files to speed up the search - well thats how I do it I have a folder with just the driver in it so win can load it & set the bios up for Ahci setting automatically.

Would like to hear you have completed it successfully.

FYI - I had a laptop with Win 7 home Ed X64 bit the laptop broke so I used that key on another machine as long as you don't have 2 copies running at once it will work, they just don't tell you that at Microsoft.

I have a .dbs program which displays the key from a registy as it converts the hex into the key we all type in (displayed as a VB message box - fyi), so it is legal but hush hush info 😉...

Update

hardware (cpu)? so down to one stick of ram and cooling fans.Might just buy a 80 dollar cpu to see what happens

The tech info to a extent

I'm sure that's not the proper way to post the tech info sorry.
So im kind stuck as to my next step any thoughts?

Also check the ram is in the correct slots for 2 sticks, not sure if cpu is at fault as it loaded the os system in, bios would have beeped if cpu not correct at boot.

Reset cmos then set everything at default, this is how i would do it to make sure it is not my settings,
It is possible you have another faulty motherboard.

I have AMD - Asus m/b M5A78L-M USB3 & no matter what people say this board is a little cracker with the FX 4170 quad core 4.2GHZ, it really likes the HD7870 gpu too! but 1 graphics card only not crossfire, that ram would work in there.
But I can tell you anything about that, if you have cash change systems ect, but just a suggestion.

If possible, test the ram in a different known good machine to be sure it all works properly. Test with Memtest86+ for 5 passes ( after the first pass it will slow way down so give a few hours to complete it).

If ram tests good get a hold of the motherboard makers support team and find out if they know if your ram has issues, they usually have a list of what does not work from trouble calls like your making. They will also work with you getting it set up properly if you are having lots of issues getting stable, which you are.
