I built this PC less than a year ago. At some point I noticed that sometimes the screen would occasionally flicker, just like it flickers when you update the drivers sometimes. It would go black but not like "turned off" or "no signal". The full screen would just display a black light. Sometimes it would go back to normal and then go black again and this would happen on and on, without any obvious pattern. Sometimes it wouldn't come back on, and I'd have to manually reset it using the physical button. I quickly realized though, that whenever I restart the PC, the problem would disappear for the current session, until I turn the PC off and on again. So, basically every time I want to use the PC, I have to turn it on and then immediately restart it, and it works just fine.

I have an SSD as the boot drive and an extra HDD for storage. I don't know if these events are linked, or it's just a coincidence, but I first took notice of the flickering as I was installing a game (Star Wars the Old Republic) on the SSD. After I made the connection, I deleted the game and redownloaded it on the HDD. After that the flickering stopped for a while but then started again. Again, this all happened in the first few weeks of me building the PC. I don't believe there's a solid connection, but I mention it just in case.

The GPU is connected to the monitor via DisplayPort and all the drivers and software are up to date.
