Computer shutting down after alterations

Hello, I have an old Toshiba Satellite L50-B.
When i play games thats not even that demanding like league of legends, the computer will overheat and have thermal throttle which i don't mind once in a while because it's old. Well, I got sick of it, and I pulled out the battery and put it back in. Now instead of throttling it just shuts down without any warning. 10 minutes in and it shuts down instantly.
This only happens when it's plugged in because its on maximum performance.
This only happened after i put the pulled and put the battery back in.
CPU hits around 90C.

Are you talking about the battery that powers the unit when it's unplugged, or the CMOS battery that supplies power to the BIOS so it can retain it's settings?
