Computer Turns ON but NO display on my Monitor

Hello guys,

Okay so I was having a lan party with my mate and we were both playing League of Legends together. What happened was while I was playing on my Laptop and he was playing on his Desktop BOTH of our computers Blue Screened at the same time. Yes, at the same time.. Anyways my computer was completely fine but unfortunately his is having issues and is still having issues. I know nothing about computers but what he has to do is manually start his computers by hitting some prongs on his motherboard and the monitor is still not displaying. He purchased a new motherboard and installed it, still no display on the monitor. What do you think the problem could be so I can tell it to someone when I take it to a computer repair shop?

Do you have graphics cards? It's odd that they both did it at the same time, it might have been a power surge that caused it and possibly fried something on both PC's?

My Laptop is completely fine and has no problems whatsoever.

Try using your onboard graphics and see if anything shows up? Look at your motherboard and at the capacitors and see if any are bad, black liquid or a burning smell, or the tops are bulging outwards and not flat.

My friend said he tried that and it does not work as well. He just got a BRAND NEW Motherboard and installed it correctly. Our NCO helped us with it and he does not know what is wrong with it either

What about fans? Are all the fans turning? If you have a DVD drive does the DVD drive open/have power? Is there any clicking or grinding around the PSU or HDD's?

He said everything you mentioned works fine. I'll probably just take it to a computer repair shop on Friday and see what they can do lol. I really do appreciate you helping though

i had the same problem, not many people like to answer these threads lol. I've ordered a replacement for my Mobo, i was on amd fx 8350 and ASUS m5a97 r2.0.

And moved to intel, msi z97 gaming 7, and 4790k. Swapped everything over, and my watercooling and turns out mobo is faulty, all turned on but no display from onboard graphics or my gtx 970. After many hours of eliminating the different possibilities i ordered a replacement.
But, there is my story yours seems could be a different factor.
Test your RAM, use only one and see if it boots, many problems come from the RAM surprisingly

Yeah, test everything, usually with a graphical issue it's a GPU, almost never is the CPU a problem in any way on a PC unless you physically harm it yourself or the PSU fails. Good luck with it.
