Building a pc for Christmas, I’ve built quite a bit but never had a problem like this. Originally I had bought a used r5 1600 and a new as rock b450 pro4 i also had some used parts that I know work because I just upgraded my own PC and pulled them out of it. A 750ti and a Corsair cuc 550 psu got some ram off Newegg ddr4 3200 2x8 and a sata ssd.
got the parts opened CPU box to a few bent pins because they put it in the box upside down. I bent the pins back which I have done a few times now but know to expect it not to work. I get the pc all build seat the cpu right and get no post. Use case speaker and I got 5 long beeps followed by 1 short beep. I couldn’t find anything on what this meant but I assumed it was the cpu so I returned it and got another cpu a used r7 1700. Got it today put it in to the same post code. I then put the r7 1700 in my personal computer and it booted no issue so I now know it’s not cpu related.
I have reseted memory, swapped memory, reseated 8 pin and 24 pin. Removed GPU (yes the gpu had its 6 pin power) I know the psu works because it came out of my computer a month ago when I upgraded. And I’ve reset cmos every time only time I get a different post code is if I take out my ram I get 3 quick beeps. When I get the 5 long beeps 1 short it’s 5 long beeps then a 2 second delay then one short beep. All fans spin cpu cooler is in the right connector. I’m really stumped on this only this I can think of is the socket it damaged.
