Since this morning my computer won't boot. The keyboard logo lights up, however when I press the power button the system does nothing. The PSU fans turn on with the paper clip test. Tried taking out ram and GPU and to no avail. Seems that there was a power surge, but I have a protector and my monitors and router are still OK. Is this problem related to the MOBO or the PSU?

No, when I try to power the system nothing turns on. Another detail is that the board has no sign of burn or damage. Regarding the tutorials, my computer has worked seamlessly for 4 months, so I doubt it was a new builder mistake.

There are a 20+4 pin and an 8 pin connector running from the psu to the motherboard, there is a power cord running to the wall socket and a switch at the back of the psu. Are they all plugged in switched on? It really seems that your PC gets no power. Is the wall socket ok?
Can you borrow another psu so swap and test?

Thanks for answering. The computer is fixed. Maybe it was not the connections but it was definitely not receiving enough power. There was a failure in the voltage of the apartment, so this was the cause of the computer not turning on. Thankfully, the electrical company promptly fixed it.

It is unable to POST again. The computer worked marvelously for 6 hours but the next day it had the same problem. I've breadboard it and still nothing. Checked the PSU with another motherboard (Old Intel LGA 775) and it worked, so I infer its not the PSU, but the motherboard or the CPU. I can't seem to understand how it fixed itself for like 6 hours and then again went faulty.
