I'm having an issue where my computer will get to this screen, and seems to freeze up here: http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/6727/hpim5614.jpg

I was installing a game when it asked for the second disc. When I put in the second disc, the installation seemed to freeze. After 20 minutes of waiting, it was still on the same file, with no progress made and the installer was no longer responding. When the installer failed to close, I waited longer and decided to just reboot my computer and try again. To my dismay, my computer would no longer boot past the screen mentioned above.

I tried pressing/holding F2, F8, and F12, with no results. Upon starting my computer, it still only makes the usual single beep. All of the fans are running. The hard drive activity light comes on at first, and you can hear it working. After a few seconds, hard drive activity stops but the screen remains. I can't access BIOS settings from here, and booting with the Windows CD in the drive fails to do anything. It simply stops at the same screen with or without CD's in the drive. I made sure to disconnect any USB drives and I do not have a floppy drive.

What exactly can I do to fix this? After searching through Google, I've seen a lot of people suggest resetting the CMOS, but the person often claims that it did nothing to solve the issue. I'll still give it a try, but my hopes are low. I'm thinking this may have done something similar to resetting a gaming console while it saves to a memory card. Perhaps my hard drive contents have been corrupted? What are the possibilities?

I really appreciate any support!

Maybe your HDD is corrupted, try to remove your HDD then try to ON your computer and try to access the bios, also check the dell site if there is a bios update for your computer.
