I made a thread about this last week. This happened exactly a week ago.
My computer was working fine last Sunday night. Nothing to indicate any problems. I turn it off. The next morning I turn it back on, and it won't even get to BIOS. There are no system beeps, and the dram LED stays lit on my Asus mobo. I use the memok button, I try every possible combination of memory sticks and slots, I reset CMOS, I take my video card off, nothing works. I disconnect my PSU from everything and hook it up to an older computer to see if it even works, and it does (although the only reply in my last thread said that this wasn't a good test of my PSU). I leave everything unhooked for the rest of the day.
The next day I hook it all back up and try it again, just for the hell of it, and it works fine, boots up, like nothing was ever wrong. I assume that somehow there was a loose connection that I had missed. The computer works fine for the rest of the week.
However, now it's doing it again, won't boot to BIOS, no display on the screen, except this time the CPU led is staying lit. Can anyone give me an idea as to what the hell is going on here? The only reply in my previous thread stated that it might actually be the PSU failing, which would be relatively easy and cheap to replace. Or is it the CPU, or the mobo?
