Computer won't recognize Radeon HD 7870

I got my new XFX AMD Radeon HD 7870 in the mail today, and I hooked it up and everything seems to be running smoothly. However, there is one small problem, my computer can't recognize the graphics card. If I look at my device manager, it just shows an "Unknown Device" for my graphics card. I tried to right-click and search online for drivers, but that never turns up any results.

Methods I have tried: new power supply (old one didn't have double 6pin PCI power), installing the drivers online (the disc only supports Vista and 7, and I have Windows 8 64-bit), updating drivers for other hardware like my Asus motherboard and my monitors, among other random things.

Nothing has fixed the problem thus far, and I have now resorted to the knowledge of the internet.

If you can think of anything I could try or know of a fix, please let me know. For now I have my old graphics card, but it'd be nice to use my new one soon!

Thanks!

EDIT: After trying many different solutions all to no avail, I ordered a new PSU with the possibility of my previous PSU's PCI-E power cables to be faulty, as I had never had to use them before. I don't know if that was the problem, but my new PSU fixed my issue. So if you run into this problem, don't count buying a new PSU out, cause it worked for me.

Solution
Zach Whiteis, the black screen and fan spinning is a case of your Motherboard not being updated to the most recent BIOS, thus not recognizing the card. Give us the name of your MoBo, or go to your MoBo manufacturer's website and install the latest BIOS. It will work, happened with me and my GTX 770. Good Luck.

No, I'm getting nothing from the card. It's running, as in the fans are spinning, but that's it.
Also, that is the exact place I tried to install the drivers from in the first place. I've tried downloading the whole "Catalyst" thing like, 3 times now, and nothing. It always just tried to update the other card in my computer that I'm using.
Also, I tried turning the computer on with only the new card hooked up, but nothing happened. My monitor just remained black indefinitely.

Alright, so I tried to install some BIOS drivers for my motherboard, but they downloaded WinRAR files that have nothing I can use inside but doesn't appear to have changed anything. All the WinRAR files hold CAP files.

My motherboard is an Asus LGA 1155 P8Z77-V LK. I went to the drivers website for that motherboard and downloaded some BIOS drivers, but, like I said, they just downloaded into a WinRAR file that don't seem to have done anything yet.

Also, I "lied" in my original post when I said I was running Windows 8 64-bit. I'm actually running Windows 8.1 64-bit, if that helps. I just updated to it yesterday.

Alright, I figured out what to do with the CAP files and I successfully updated my BIOS settings for my motherboard to 1301, the most recent update. After the update completed, the computer restarted and I went back to my BIOS settings. I changed preferred graphics type to PCI-E (as I had seen that being the solution in other cases) and booted up my PC. Nothing. Absolutely nothing has changed. Still an "Unknown Device" along with the inability to find drivers online. I'm going to try and install the cards drivers from the AMD website again, and if that doesn't work I'm going to try and boot up the PC with only the new graphics card hooked up, as I remember that was a suggestion from someone previously.

UPDATE: nothing has worked thusfar, so I have decided to do the next best thing I can think of and buy a new PSU. I bought this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ALYOPSS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Even if this isn't the problem, a new PSU really couldn't hurt in the long run anyways. Nothing wrong with more power. Also, for those wondering, I have no clue what PSU I currently have. It's just the PSU that came with my case.

The new PSU should be hear on Friday, so I'll take any suggestions people may have and I'll make sure to post if the PSU fixes the problem or not.
