I just bought new 4gb ddr3 with 1333mhz, and my pc won't turn on. My motherboard is asrock n68c- s ucc and is said that it can support up to 1600mhz. What do I need to do? By the way when I put my old ddr2 memory stick it will turn on, but when I put the new ddr3 memory stick, it won't turn on :(

update the motherboard´s BIOS

which CPU are you using?

Into which slot did you put in the new RAM?

reset BIOS by jumper (have a look at your motherboard´s manual for clrCMOS or similar) after installing the new RAM

do you use both sticks old and new at the same time?

Please post the exact model number of the new RAM

incompatibility or a fault RAM could be possible

edit: Only AM3 CPUs can support DDR2 and DDR3 memory (not simultaneously).

Your CPU is compatible to both, DDR2 and DDR3, it´s an AM3 CPU
You can´t run both at the same time, so just DDR3 or DDR2 plugged in.

Your CPU memory controller should lower the frequency automatically to 1066MHz and run the 1600MHz DDR3 RAM

My question is, in which of the two blue slots did you plug your one RAM stick in?

The BIOS should be up to date to sort out the most probable cause: incompatibility because of an outdated BIOS version

like described in the 1st link of the asrock page

download the latest BIOS
unzip this file to an USB flash drive
restart you pc
while you see the ASROCK logo, press the key F2 or DEL or which one is needed to enter the BIOS (should be on the screen which button to enter the BIOS)
inside BIOS choose instant flash
choose the flash drive and the BIOS file on it
flash

try the 1st blue socket
