"Con"?

Stoopid question, what does "con" aka "conn" mean? I know what it refers to
- a foe's name level color - but I'm not quite clear what the term actually
means or where it came from. The downside of not having played all prior
MMOGs...

It's an old mud term, short for "consider".

You'd see an enemy and "consider" your chances of winning a fight
against him.

Short for "consider," I believe. In fact, I think the guy in the
training room who tells you what the colors mean explains that
abbreviation, though I could be wrong.
