[citation][nom]Crush3d[/nom]I will likely pass on this one. A single player TES with optional Coop would be better.[/citation]

Completely agree. A co-op would be awesome, it would still have that feeling that only Campaigns in single player can deliver.

They should cut and run! Bethesda's not even the one's making it!! It's doomed already... Let's just hope it doesn't somehow delay Bethesda from releasing the next TES with the launch of next gen consoles

[citation][nom]alidan[/nom]... because honestly... i dont want to play this game online or with friends.[/citation]

lol... I feel the same... I wonder how they are going to handle Stealth skills... I don't want my friends giving out my location just the way companions do... and what about PVP!?

I just hope they do not make the mistake of all the 'me too' RPGs out there. The longest running and most successful RPGs are not successful because of the story, content, or even graphics. They are popular because they are primarially a good forum community that allow players and their guilds to effect the world they play in.
That was my addiction to EVE online. The story? who cares. Graphics? pretty, but not stellar. Gameplay? well, spreadsheets are addictive, but that scares more people than anything. Community? OMG! you mean you can set up a base and contend for sectors of space (and now planets!?!)? You can set up alliances and make a profession of corporate espionage that goes well beyond simple 'griefing'? There is a real world style market which you can play and influence? Crafting is not just a gimmicky side quest, but actual bread and butter for the game? That is what gives a game staying power! not dumb 'added features' like the ability to own a pet.
You can only sell people the same sprite covered in a different skin so many times before people get bored. But if you get players in a community deeply involved with each other then you don't even need a story line to keep them coming back. The only reasons I quite EVE was because I had a kid and did not have a whole lot of time on my hands anymore, and because money got really tight for a bit, so I had to cut back for a while. But man, what a great setup for a game! Not for everyone, but for me it was much more enjoyable and immersing than the sea of warcraft knockoffs. Even WOW was only fun for a week or 2 before it was just mindnumbing level grinding, it really is a mystery how it is still so popular (granted shrinking rapidly).

Here is to hoping that ESO will be the lead in to a Fallout MMO (fix the bugs with a more expansive game, and focus on content/story). Although Fallen Earth is still fun (a little less so since the steam release, and the How I mine for Fish? morons that are everywhere now).

Even better, it has been said (by the developers) that it is heavily following WoW and will not be anything like TES in terms of combat and skills. You will have set classes and use a skill bar in turn based combat. So, it will another standard mmo with the TES name tacked on to try to make money.

There are a few interesting things they are doing, but nothing that makes me say, "ooo that makes me want to play that game because it will bring TES feel to mmos." It will only be TES in lore and name it looks like.

I think a lot of people are confused about this news. Zenimax Media Co. owns Bethesda Softworks and Besthesda Game Studios. Bethesda Game Studios develops the current Elder Scrolls games. Bethesda Softworks publishes the games. The current MMO is currently in development by Zenimax Online Studios which is a subsidiary of Zenimax Media Co. (they make MMO's). Zenimax Media Co. is the parent company that owns all of these companies, but BGS is not involved with the development of this title. We should continue to see future single player Elder Scrolls games because Todd Howard is not involved with the MMO.

ok so how exactly are we supposed to change weapons in the middle of a fight? going to our inventory should either stop the entire world combat system or put you into god mode while your in the character menu so you cant be killed while deciding what you want

I'd have liked a Age of Conan style combat system so you fight in real time and decide the combos you do etc.. .. turn based fighting like that with WOW is a step backwards..
