Question confused is this damaged?

I was looking at a laptop I was given and noticed this? is this normal?

You might want to include more images of the motherboard, zoomed out, for context. We will also need you to mention the make and model of the laptop and or the model of the motherboard to help us cross reference what you have to work with.

One thing you might want to do while you prepare pics for us, is to see if there are any traces leading to and from the part you've zoomed in to.

I was considering that but I figured regardless of the piece of hardware it would be either, Yeah that's not supposed to be like that, or No, that's normal. Ill try to get a better view of the situation Its a HP and the chip is right next to a usb port. I am sure that isn't too useful... I'll just get the better pictures lol
