Hello guys,
First something about my PC
Mobo= Intel DH55TC, Micro-ATX Form Factor, LGA1156 Socket Type, Dual Channel DIMM Memory, PCIe x16 Slots, Generation 1, 2.0.
Processor= Intel 3.06 GHz LGA 1156 Core i3-540.
RAM= two sticks, total 4 GB.
Cabinate= Would purchase a new one according to new graphic card.
Monitor= LG2041 20 inches with 1600*900 resolution@75Hz.
GPU= still to purchase.
Friends I am going to buy a new graphic card and according to my budget(<$180) I found HIS AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6870 IceQ GPU 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card good for me.
GPU=http://www.flipkart.com/his-amd-ati-radeon-hd-6870-iceq-gpu-1-gb-gddr5-graphics-card/p/itmd2ryngqvgjtgf?pid=GRCD2RYNZB6HBD53&ref=ebae619f-1d62-402b-aa33-d4e007c005d0
For this card I think a 500W PSU would be good enough. So I decided to buy Seasonic S12II 620 Watts PSU.
PSU=http://www.flipkart.com/seasonic-s12ii-620-watts-psu/p/itmd5xz46hjzzrax?pid=PSUD5XZ4GCGRASAY&ref=f307e481-1d24-4a20-9cef-36f9bf2d6c94
The PSU gives me one PCI-e 6 pin connector, but 6870 requires two 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors. But on reviews page people say that they have purchased this PSU and playing GTX 560. Following are its connectivity specs
Motherboard: 1 Motherboard Connector with 20 pin, 24 pin
CPU: 2 CPU Connector with ATX 12V (4 pin) + EPS 12V (8 pin)
PCI-e: 1 PCI-e 6 pin
SATA: 9 SATA Cables
Floppy: 2 Floppy Connector with 4 pins
Peripheral: 6 Peripheral Connector with 4 pins
So I am little confused that if it has one PCI-e connector then how would I connect HD 6870 with it, as it requires two PCI-e connectors? On the other hand people using gtx 560 said they have purchased it and are good with it.
I have chosen this PSU of 620W because I would do some overclocking and would buy a more powerful and latest CPU in one or two years.
I want to play latest games at maximum settings possible, as my monitor resolution is only 1600*900 so I opted HD 6870.
Should I buy from HIS or some other brand is better with overclocking margin for this card? Or should I choose some another card for maximum settings at this resolution?
Friends guide me.
