Question SSD was detected by the Windows installer, but it's not shown in the BIOS ?

I have a Gigabyte G1 Sniper B6 motherboard.
I tried installing a new M.2 SSD but it doesn't appear in the BIOS boot menu even though I have already installed Windows on it as the Windows installer detected it no problem.

You did an installation and the Windows boot went to another hard drive, so nothing appears.

Your reply is not correct.
I installed Windows on the correct drive but the drive isn't shown in the bios boot options.

What model M.2 drive?
If that is NVME M.2 , then your board has no BIOS support for those.
Your board is too ancient for this technology.

You can boot from sata drive. Bootloader has to be placed there.
Windows can be installed on NVME drive.
But without sata drive your system will not be able to boot.

Well you were saying that my motherboard is too old for this type of SSD. Does this mean I have to buy a different one in order for my bios to be able to detect it? Sorry Im not really experienced into these things.

Yes.
A new motherboard, a new cpu and new ram.
Basically a new pc.

I will return this NVMe drive and order a 2.5 SATA III, hopefully it’s going to work with this one. Thanks for the help

it can be from BIOS if not configured to recognize the M. 2 SSD. You need to enter the BIOS settings and enable the M. 2 SSD to fix this.

The only inconvenience - you also need a sata drive for bootloader.

BTW - you still haven't told us model name of your M.2 drive.
May be it's SATA M.2 and not NVME M.2 ?
How have you connected it to your board? Your board has no native M.2 slots.

You're doing something wrong, you didn't tell us if the computer can enter the BIOS and if the NVME is visible there.

You can buy and use something like this for your Nvme

I was able to fix this issue by updating my bios through a modding that I found which basically enabled support for NVMe drives. Thanks for trying to help me though really appreciate it, which made me realise the issue.
