Connect GPU or Motherboard

So.. I wanna know the differences between both and no, telling me connecting it to gpu is better for gaming is NOT enough of an answer.
I want reasons on both sides to why one should connect them.

If you mean connecting your monitor, then connect it to your GPU. Reasons... all the reasons. Connecting your monitor to the MOBO..non of the reasons. If you plug in your screen to the MOBO you are basically bypassing the GPU, making it pointless. It's not supposed to work that way.
