Connecting to Internet

I'd appreciate any help and guidance people can offer me.

I have a Nokia 3595 and I am on the Nationwide GSM plan. I also have an HP
Pavilion laptop.

I want to access a call up internet account on rare occasions to check my
email when I am out of town, using my laptop and the Nokia as the connection
vehicle. Here are my questions:

(1) Can this be done?

(2) If it can be done, what equipment (cable) is needed to connect my cell
phone to my computer?

(3) Are there additional charges by Cingular when I made a call into a
dial-up internet service using my Nokia 3595 as the modem connection?

I went to the Cingular store and I wasn't comfortable with the person who
spoke to me. He was soooo interested in selling me a Cingular Internet
Service feature that I don't think he was listening to my questions. He
also said I needed a different cell phone, which I'm not sure is correct
based on some preliminary reserach I have done.

You will need a cable. My advice is to goto ebay and search for a "Nokia
3595 cable". Don't buy it from your provider unless you like paying the
300% markup. There is also the possibility that your phone will support
inferred, however your computer will need to have it too.

No if you use a dialup provider you will be using whats called
CSD(carrier switched data). However this option is limited 9600bps. This
option also counts against your voice mins. You might want to look at a
GPRS package. In this option they charge you by the amount of data you
download and not by time. Cingular has a promotion now called "Media
Works" were for $19.95 you get unlimited data. Also GPRS is much faster
than CSD. Most GPRS connections have speed that are typical of a 33.6
dial up connection.

You cannot use that phone to dial up as it dose not have a internal
modem it a cheap phone..

You can browse the web on the phone thats it

I got my cable also the Tmobile connection wha wha (see my posting in
the Nokia Forum ) is diose not work get a phone thats has a modem
built in

I stand Corrected. CSD might not be possible, now that I think about it,
I don't remember seeing that in the specs. However, it should have a
GPRS modem. Otherwise I don't think your WAP browser would work. GPRS
over a data cable may still be possible.

nope got a cable
it would need the at commands

yes you can dial eg 123454 on the phone
but need to put the phone into gprs mode first

the only way is at commands
