Can anyone help with an embarrassingly basic problem.

I;m trying to connect power for a Zotac GTX 1070 AMP Extreme.

The card has four power connectors - two lots of two sockets with two on the left side of the bank of four sockets and two on the right side. It looks like this

12|34

I've connected the PSU to one bank on the right side and one on the left side which leaves two unconnected. In other words the card is receiving two lots of power inputs from the PSU but not four lots of power inputs although the card has sockets to receive four.

Have I done the right thing by connecting two PCI-E power supply cables to the card and leaving two slots on the card not connected?

Solution
There are only two power connectors on the card, dual 8-pin connections.
From the Zotac web page: Power Input Dual 8-pin

If you don't have 8-pin PCIe power plugs on your power supply, you either need to use adapters for that, linking two 6-pins into one 8-pin or get a power supply with dual 8-pin connections.

The Zotac comes with two 6-pin to 8-pin adapters, you will need to use both. Plug in one 6-pin power cable to of the the 6-pin ports of the adapter and plug that side in, then get the other adapter and do the same. I don't really like this method since I have an excess of cables in the front of my case which looks pretty messy, but it gets the job done.

Hopefully you figured this out yourself, because I had the exact same problem as you when I got mine.

And updating from a very old GTX 650 Ti a lot of it was very confusing when I put mine in, don't feel bad lol.
