Hi all.

I recently bought a Conroe E6600 as I think right now this CPU is the best value for money.

My current rig is:

Core 2 Duo E6600
GIGABYTE 965P-DQ6
2*1GB Mushkin DDR2 XP2-8800
XFX 8800 GTS
2*320 WD SATAII

I have been playing around some with OC and don't want to go to crazy.

Have neem able to run FSB 370*9 @ 3.33MhZ and even up to 3.4 on normal stock CPU cooling but like I said don't have any need to go to crazy so decided to bring FSB down to 350 and run @ 3.15MhZ.

The DQ6 seems like a sweet mothboard for OC and after playing with vCore etc I decided to just set the RAM multiplier to 2 and leave everything else to Auto including vCore.

I OC the 8800GTS to 630/1050 witout it breaking a sweat.

I decided to run 3DMark06 and got the following scores.

3DMark Score 10086 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score 4549
HDR/SM3.0 Score 4565
CPU Score 2445

For the sake of getting real day to day use score I keept ZoneAlarm Security, MSN and Skype running during the test.

Does anyone have any conroe 3DMark scores to campare with ?

Done some small tweaking to this config.

Changed RAM multiplier to 2.5 so running the RAM @ 875 also brought the GTS down to 630/950

Running 100% stable only using Stock HCF and now getting 3DMark06 Score of 10050-10100. Seems like ok performance with minimum effort the 8800 series GPU is a very good performer.

That is an awesome score for a GTS.

My GTX at stock settings with e6600 stock was about 10k. Did some OCing, e6600 is at about 4ghz, 8800gtx 667/1000 and i scored about 12,400. Both are water cooled.

what 3d marks were you getting with the 8800GTS and E6600 at stock speed. As building a new system with them in about 2-3, and interested to no how much higher the overclocking makes the score.
