Considering upgrading to a gtx 1060

Hey there, there is a game I would like to play called "Kingdom come deliverance".
I currently manage to run it on low settings, with 50-60 fps, can get to 40 maybe if a lot of stuff is going on.
I was wondering if getting a gtx 1060 would boost my performance and allow me to run the game on high ?

here are my specs, forgive me if I forgot something, tell me and I'll add it.

motherboard: B85M-G

CPU Type
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz

Graphics Chipset
AMD Radeon R9 200 Series (R9 280)

RAM
8GB DDR3

edit: Almost forgot to add the requirements for the game, here they are - https://imgur.com/a/54pDr

Ah, in that case, yes, a GTX 1060 will be a definite improvement over your R9 280 (2-step improvement from the link I provided before). You'll still run into price issues with the GPU, unfortunately, thanks to those pesky cryptominers.

If you can afford it, though, look into upgrading the CPU and RAM if you can.
well lets see on the specs there it is recommended to 16GB of ram although u can run it on 8 the i5-4440 will handle the gtx 1060 but u have just put AMD Radeon R9 200 series on there which isnt helpful as it could be many different gpu's my gpu shows up as radeon hd 7000 series but i know which one it is based off of look and also specs

Right, sorry about that. its R9 290 I'm pretty sure and its the current GPU I'm using, which runs the game on low.

it would be a slight increase in performance on the gpu by about 20% according to game debate the processor is just below average but u should see a nice little increase and u wont have to wory about power supply because the GTX 1060 comsumes less power

R9 290 is at the same tier as the GTX 1060. Even though it's an older generation, chances are that you'll maybe see at best a 20-30% improvement with your current system in most games. In this case, since a GTX 1060 or better is the recommended GPU, the R9 290 shouldn't be too far behind it...

Which means that your biggest issue is potentially two-fold. First, you only have the minimum RAM (8 GB min, 16 GB recommended), so without more RAM you're probably going to be held back. Second, although you have a Haswell (4th-gen) Core i5 (only need a Sandy Bridge/2nd-gen to run, Ivy Bridge/3rd-gen is recommended), it's on the slow side (minimum 3.3GHz/recommended 3.4GHz or faster, but yours is only 3.1GHz). Don't know how much that is going to affect it, but it's possible that's where more of the slowdown is.

Given the current cost of new GPUs, it might be more affordable to look at bumping your RAM up and/or upgrading to a faster CPU (i.e. i5-4670/4690, i7-4770/4790).

I made a mistake, my current gpu isnt r9 290 but a 280, do you still think I shouldnt upgrade the gpu ? btw I remember the gpu being a battlefield 4 edition or something like that.

yes it would definitely improve it a lot but soon if i was u i would upgrade the cpu and ram too as u probs want at least 8GB nowdays but now some newer games need 16 gb ram and the i5-4440 isnt exactly a high end cpu

opened the pc now and found out that I have an r9 280x 3GB , I cant afford to upgrade too much stuff. Would upgrading to a gtx 1060 with 6 gb allow me to run Kingdom come deliverance on high with 60 fps ?
