Sapphire R9 290 4GB
MB is I think an Asus Xtreme 3 or 4
PSU EVGA G2 850

I'm contemplating replacing the CPU/MB/RAM/GPU to 6700k/ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII FORMULA/ 16GB maybe 32 because why not DDR4/ EVGA 1080, but from what I see a lot of people saying as far as far as just the cpu or ram the performance increase wouldn't be worth it but the system as a whole maybe? I am a heavy gamer, including some cpu intensive games like Arma 3 although coding for the game is rough. Wouldn't mind getting into VR gaming later this year as well. I'm also wanting to get into streaming again soon, which will inevitably lead into some video editing and what not. But I was wanting to get some more opinions and actual facts from people who are more knowledgeable on the newer parts. Money isn't really an issue, but I also don't like wasting money. Anyways thanks in advance for taking the time to give me some advice, pointers, etc etc.

maybe have a look at the 2011 socket chips if you're gonna be streaming and editing a lot on the same pc. Yes a regualr consumer i5 or i7 is slightly better for gaming but rendering is amazing on the intel extreme processors. maybe even slap some watercooling on it if you like experimenting. allows you to really push the limits of the 1080 and cpu while also being considerably more quiet. other than that i agree with your selected components. :)
