I got this problem a couple hours ago. Everytime I press the "t" key on my HP laptop keyboard, the control keys act as if they are being pressed even though they aren't physically being pressed. As far as I know, the "t" key is the only key that does this. Using the on-screen keyboard has the same result. If I click the "t" key, both control keys light up and stay lit up until I reset the keyboard with control-alt-delete.

I have tried updating, uninstalling and reinstalling some of the mouse and keyboard drivers with no luck.

Anybody come across an issue like this before?

Solution
Use Keyboardtester and see if you've ended up with other key's binding to it...if you do, might be worth investigating if your keyboard needs replacing(as a last resort) or if there's dirt/debris under the keycaps/keyswitches.

Model and SKU to your HP laptop?

Thanks. I finally got around to cleaning the keyboard and keyboard cable with compressed air and isopropyl alcohol and the issue seems to be fixed.
