I am stumped! I had a generic MB that I replaced today (it went bad - which was good for me). I replaced it with a Gigabyte 7zxr. Great board! I don't know all the features yet. My problem is this. I really thought that I was going to drop in temp because of a better performing board, but I actually am running hotter than I was with my generic board. I am running about 60 degrees C. I know that Athlons run hot, but on my old board, I was usually between 40-45. What can I do. I am running a Global win 32-1 heatsink and fan. Suppose to be real good, but... Help!

Yes, I applied some thermal paste to the core, and it seems to be sitting fine. I put my old fan on, a coolermaster, and it dropped a few degrees, but is still consistantly in the 55 degree c range. Still stumped...

The globalwin should out perform the coolmaster with ease. I can only think that mayby the fan on the globalwin may not be spinning at full speed ie defective you should check that out.

SANDMAN

Use sisoft sandra. That will give an accurate temp straight from the mobo sensor. Good luck, Diemos.
