I wanted to get the Cryorig H7 but it's out of stock everywhere and is only selling for above $100 which is a no go, so I was wondering how the be Quiet! BK008 Pure Rock Slim compares to the H7
I'm currently using the 2200g but I'll be upgrading to a 2600 or 1700 sometime in the futureWhat cpu are you cooling? I use the be quiet pure rock slim on an i5 4590 and an i5 3570k and both stay below 60°c at full load no problem, is also very quiet![]()
I have the msi b350m gaming pro, 2200g (planning to upgrade to a 2600 or 1700), and a spec 04 TG, with a maximum height of 150mmWhat MB, CPU, and case?
only a 1-2 degree difference? are you sure? The PureRock Slim is substantially worse:

The stock cooler of a 2600 or 1700 is adequate, not phenomenal - but I'd suggest using the stock cooler over spending $30 on that unit.
In the 'budget' range you could do a lot worse than a Cryorig M9.... M9a specifically in this case (AMD).
Within a degree or two of the H7.

I agree, and of course you would want sound measurements at each wattage level, since these coolers usually won't be running at full-tilt anyway, so noise comparisons at a given temperature level are arguably more important than how well they cool with the fans set to 100%.Which is the problem with many benchmarks, using only 2, very specific outputs on a specific cpu. Usually stock settings and a mild-decent OC. What would be far better would be a timed variable load, starting @ 40w and climbing to past the TDP.
Actually, it's only available as a marketplace item on Newegg, and if you look at the seller, it's also being sold by OutletPC there as well, at least in the US. Cryorig probably isn't selling them to online stores here anymore, so OutletPC likely figures they can price-gouge their last remaining stock, hoping to catch someone who really wants one.Edit: it's $123 at newegg (if you look, not PCP) and it's $38 at Cryostore. So it's not a Cryorig price hike, it's more like newegg and others have a surplus of Lumi that none were buying, so hike up the standard version.
