I recently got a Gigabyte X870 (Socket AM5) motherboard and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black air cooler. I accidentally damaged a pin on the CPU socket when assembling, but I seem to have managed to fix it with a sewing needle. It would not start at all before I attempted to fix it with the pin. Currently it runs 60 to 90 seconds before shutting down. When disassembling the system for examination I found that the heat sink was not making contact with the CPU and just barely touched the thermal compound. I screwed the heat sink into the board as tightly as possible, all the way to where the threads end on the mounting screws. Any ideas on what can be done, or does this cooler not fit this motherboard? Any air coolers recommended that might fit?

Mounting kit contains parts for Intel as well, are you sure you used right parts for AMD ?
