Hello guys,

Recently I built my first (self build) pc. With an AMD Fx8320. I heard stories that the stock fan would be very loud. I thought by myself well it can't be that bad right? Well as you may know, IT IS.
When playing Battlefield 4 (or any other CPU intense game) the fan would spin so hard my pc might fly away when I look away 😀
So I want to buy a new cooler. My first thought was a Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo But that one is too tall so it wont fit in my case unfortunatly. So my attention fell at the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo.
But I don't know if it will fit (Interference with the RAM as I assume the fan must be pointing towards the ram for Airflow reasons)
So I am asking if people with this motherboard and/or cooler (or someone else who may know this 😀) Will it fit?
Sorry for the poor quality image.
PC SPECS:
CPU: AMD FX 8320
RAM: 2x 8GB Kingston beast DDR3 RAM
GPU: MSI Geforce Gaming gtx 960 4gb
Motherboard: MSI Gaming 970
Case: sharkoon t28 red edition
(I don't think HDD and PSU are important for this matter)

Solution
You can swap the ram to 2 & 4 if you need to mate trust me.
The t4 is slimline anyway though & I honestly don't think it will clash anyway.

Taking the fan off , putting it on the other side & rotating the heatsink 180 degrees also gives you 10mm more clearance than the picture above.
The T4 is very slightly better than the TX3 EVO but not much difference. I had both on an overclocked FX 6350 at 4.3 Ghz and both performed the same. If you have good quality thermal paste and a good exhaust fan to quickly suck out the warm air near the heatsink, you will be fine. The TX3 Evo kept my CPU at 15-18 C on idle and 45C at full load.

^ no it didntbmate - you're making the same mistake of using 3rd party monitoring software which is unreliable.
No cooler on the planet will keep an fx chip below 25c at idle ever - its impossible.
The t4 is slightly better at cooling than the tx3 evo but a lot lot quieter.
JaJochem - dump MSI command center for temp monitoring - its not accurate at all.
Below 40c at low loads any kind of temp monitoring is unreliable - and overdrive is the closest you'll get to being accurate though.

Bear in mind thatvthermal margin is a backwards countdown from the 72c limit of the CPU.

45c in overdrive means the cpu is at 27c(72-45=27)

37c would means it's at 35c (72-37 =35) etc.

Erratic Temp bouncing at idle loads with stock bios settings is normal. The clocks & voltage will be bouncing from core to core under low usage.

I applied the Cooler Master thermal paste. It already had a better texture than my cheap ass thermal paste I bought somewhere.
As I know Thermal paste doesnt really impact your temps a lot. but my temps are stable now and arent going all of the place.

Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it
The community of the Tomshardware is the best I've ever seen. As I posted the exact same topic on linustechtips i still only got 1 reply. Thanks for all the question you answered and all the advice you gave me. I hope to see you again soon!

NP mate - I can only apologise regarding the mounting of the cooler - I completely forgot that Pre-evo model coolers only mount with fan to top or bottom.
I've mistaken a sachet of paste for silica dessicant before & actually binned it (that stuff is actually to minimise condensation inside packaged electronics)

Your temps & noise levels should be exponentially lower though now - you're not going to see a noticeable performance loss running ram single channel although it is annoying.

Temps are at idle atleast 10 degrees cooler (haven't gamed yet)
And when I walk in my room I already caught myself thinking if my pc is even turned on xD because normally I would hear my pc for a mile away 😀
And the situation with the ram is unfortunate but it's not the end of the world. as my previous pc didnt even have dual channel and I have gamed a lot on that!
Again thanks for everything you have done to me!
Have an amazing day/night sir!
