Cooler master V10 WHY?? with overclocking

HI everyone....

I just bought COOLER master V10 and i put into my computer.
Here is my spec:
i7 920 oc 3.9Ghz
12gb ram
1000watts
asus p6t deluxe

here is my current temp with V10

Real temp gives me: 38c , 36c , 38c , 35c at idle

When i use prime95 and it hits to 80c, 74c , 76c , 75c
I only test like 5 min. I will test more.

Question how come i read at newegg.. why ppl get like 55c when they run prime95... What did i do wrong??

you did nothing wrong, just answer these Q's,

1) DL CPU-Z and look at the stepping, if it's C0/C1 then you're temps are normal, if it's D0 then go to Q2

2) on the same application and tab, look at the core voltage, if it's 1.25v or above then your temps are normal, if it's below this go to Q3

3) Try reseating your heatsink with some new thermal compound like OCZ freeze or Arctic silver 5 or MX-2.

or the people at newegg's temps are at stock speeds and volts.

Even with the V10 the temps are that high? WOW

^ he does have a pretty high overclock, and as we all know, even D0 i7's get quite hot.

I will see it tonight ... but what u mean c0/c1?? if i see only c0... is that okies??


what c0 stands for? c1? and d0?

Do you think my temp is too high?

I GOT C0/C1... soo that mean i am okies? MYcore voltage in cpu-z is 1.28v

yeah those temps are good for your CPU.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the CM v10 has actually got terrible performance on i7 platform, I hate to always be poiting to this review but only decent review I have found comparing all major cooling solutions (minus WC ones) in one test and not just requiring an unreliable comparason of results from 2 or more different testers with different test beds.

I was almost dubious of the legitimacy of this review at first seeing as how expensive (and massive) the v10 is. Anyway it scores right down in the lowest bracket - worse than nearly every other mid to high end air cooling solution with max temps at 80c at 3.8ghz and with a slight vcore increase. In comparason noctua u12p, thermalright true, scythe mugen 2 are 5-10c cooler. Coolermasters v8 also outperforms the v10.
