That is a very old power supply. According to Tom's, it was recommended as one of the best values in 2008, but the community feedback was that the watt rating was way too high.

The user feedback was that it had trouble at over 80% load, so if you treated it as more than a 700 watt PSU it could become unreliable. Power wise, it should be able to handle it. But if your power supply is from before 2010, I would get a new one before connecting a $500 video card to it.

Power supplies do age, you know.

A good power supply that should be more than enough for your usage would be something like this SeaSonic M12II ($75)...

There aren't any better ones that are inexpensive. You can get an okay cooler master one if you go with the G650m model for $69:

The least expensive decent power supply from Corsair is probably the RM650 ($95 before a $20 rebate):

The strange thing is that Corsair doesn't seem to have a good power supply that is not modular, which you pay extra for.

I do tend to favor Seasonic, but EVGA also makes some good value power supplies. One of the cheapest enthusiast power supplies that EVGA is favored for is their B2 750 model ($81):

It is rated as a tier 2 power supply (excellent) and can be had for $81 at Superbiiz or $85 from Amazon.
