Cooling Solution

Hey guys,

I've got an Intel dualcore E8400 (might upgrade later) and am wanting to change from the stock cooler and do a bit of over clocking, I live in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia and it gets pretty hot here in summer, so for the moment I'm looking at these two options and am wondering what other people think.

The first is a Corsair water cooled setup:

I dont know anything bout water setups but this looks pretty easy to install etc

The second is a Noctua air cooler,the socket 775 version only comes with one fan but you can order a second for an additional cost

Sorry for the length of the post just wondered what other people thought of these two idea's,and if anyone had experience with either of these products.

Also any alternative sugesstions are also welcome.

The H50 is as good as a high end air cooler. It has a nice 'bling factor', but it's not a watercooled setup as defined by folks to actually watercool. Real watercooling in AU$ is about 350 to start. Kinda expensive with shipping, but there are some decent AU wc places on the web.

I would suggest the core contact freezer, but I don't know how much it cost in Australia. But on newegg it is 25 dollars US after rebate, I use this cooler it's great and it pretty much blows the competition.

Also Ive got an ASUS striker II nividia 780i motherboard and I notice the northbridge gets pretty hot, Ive seen a few passive coolers and one heat sink fan setup on the net, any suggestions there ? I'll have a look on that website for those too I guess thanks for your help.

I wouldnt be too worried about the northbridge unless you overclock VERY heavily. Heat on that shouldnt be a problem
and i suggested the core contact freezer, scroll up.
