My college has PCs with P4 1.4s with 512MB RDRAM and Radeon 7200s. I checked the RAM stick since they had an intro class showing us what PCs are comprised of, and it said 800MHZ 45ns. (I assume all PCs are using the same model, also Elpida brands)
They're slow though, and the best one yet, I boot up fresh in the morning, starting college for the first time, and get a Maxtor warning in the DETECTING IDE POST saying SMART Failure: Hard drive failure imminent.
ROFL.
The other PCs, which are mostly reserved for my class, Multimedia Integration, have G4 Macs, Dual 1.025GHZ if I am not mistaken. Not bad, since they got the MAC OS X. But still painfully slow at rendering. It was cool seeing the inside (nice easy case design for opening fast), so damn bland! It's so neat, but in not such a nice way since it's colorless (not multicolored like recent mainboards).
It ran on a heatsink only, and the fan was a 120mm one on the other side of the case, directly blowing at it and the vid card. Not bad a cooling scheme.
