Core i7 8700k very high temps (85-90)

So, I just got a 8700k, and I was surprised to see the temps going up to 95 while gaming, and suddenly once, there was a Thermal Throttling, as it reached 100 for seconds. Idk why, or what causes this, but I only use it for gaming, and i didn't even overclock it.

*note, it's using the stock things as I didn't edit them at all*

specs:

8700k
Mobo: MSI Z370 Tomhawk
cooler: Coolermaster hyper h411r
gpu: gtx 1070ti.

As an 8700K user overclocked to 4.9GHz those temps of yours at stock are bad and there must be something wrong with the Air Cooler you are using. The Cooler Master should be okay..just at stock 8700K settings so I would take the Cooler Master off and re-apply thermal paste something like MX4, Thermal Grizzly etc... and re check as it should not be reaching those temps!

Other than that, a better cooler should be on your list as the Cooler Master H411r is not that good for this CPU at all..

You need a new cooler, that one you have is way too under powered for a 8700K.

here is the screenshot i took, note that this volt. is also happening while gaming, same voltage, idk what that can mean, but its the same when i used aida64.

and here is Intel Extreme Utility after benchmarking;

But some people already have coolers like what I have and it's just working fine, no more 60-70 or even 80 temps.
Can the Hyper 212 Turbo solve this problem? note that I have a coolermaster k380 MidTower case.

hmm, I have a K380 coolermaster Midtower, can the Hyper 212 Turbo be a better solution for this cpu?

Hi, The Hyper 212 Turbo would be much better, dual fans and a better stack...so yes. Also consider the Dark Rock Pro 4, and the Noctua NH-D14, Cryrig H5 and H7...all of these would be great and a step up from the Cooler Master..

Not with that cooler they aren't, no way, they are full of crap.

You case has a max cooler height 155mm.

The CM Hyper 212 Turbo is 160mm so that won't work, too tall.

This is really the only good option since your case is too narrow for any of the really good coolers.

Too tall for his case.

Only has 155mm of clearance.

Hello, Will this be better than the Hyper h411r I have? and are we sure that it's a cooler problem there? I mean I don't really know what's going on, so I'm asking too many questions, sorry :)

Personally if you are not afraid of an AIO, go for the Corsair H60 120mm AIO as it will do more than a good job keeping that CPU cool. I have used Corsair AIO's for the better part of 10 years plus and never had an issue...simple, effective and not that bad on the cost...just a thought...

Yeah, it's a lot better cooler than what you have now, the one you have now is for the most part a joke for CPU's like the 8700K etc. It's worse than the 212 EVO and that is a joke.

If you didn't have that short little mid tower case you would have more options however like the Be Quiet! - Dark Rock 4 or Pro.

Unfortuanatly the 8700K does run hot, not as bad as some say, but it is at load and does need a fairly decent cooler. Have you actually tried to re-install your cooler with new Thermal paste yet just to see whether you get better results as I initially said it looked way too hot and might not be installed properly....

That's actually about right for that little bitty budget cooler from what I have seen.

It doesn't really go over 95 in games, but 95 is too much for gaming..I've seen people with coolers like the one I have, with lesser temps, they go within 60-80 degrees, I reach 95 a lot in gaming, and when I do a stress test with Intel Extreme Utility, Thermal Throttling happens and the PC freezes for seconds. The 8700K reaches the 100 degree.

I shall do this, maybe it's not installed properly as you mentioned, but if it's not installed properly it can be the reason for this very hot degrees?

Hi yes, if the Cooler Master is not intalled properly then the temps will usually skyrocket. Just make sure you clean the top of the CPU and the base of the CPU cooler and then a small pea sized blob of Thermal paste and install...it should be okay..then let us know what your new temps are..

Last thing, this cannot be the processor, right? I mean the last thing we can think the problem is is the processor, right?

I do not think anything is wrong with the CPU as it is working and its the temps that are to high which ussually means a problem with cooling...Try re--installing the Cooler first to make sure as I think everything should be okay then...fingers crossed. If anyone has a suggestion, please jump in...

I dunno what to say, but..I just went to the shop and retried setting the cooler, even changed it, even changed the whole processor and changed it 8700 non k, and it's still heating and going up to 90, in games, I don't really get what is happening? Maybe it's the motherboard itself that has a problem? can you please help me?

MERGED QUESTION
Question from abdelfattahshoukry12 : "CPU overheating for no known reason"

nope. its the mediocre cpu cooler you bought combined with intel overclocking the heck out of their cpus to sqeeze every last mhz out of them before you even put it into the computer. Basically despite intel's TDP claims to the contrary these are hot, power guzzling cpus, and a mediocre cooler like you're using probably isn't going to get the job done. the whole 8700(k and non k) product release has been plagued with high temp issues.

Spend a little cash, ($50-$90) and get a real cpu cooler. or trade that intel cpu and motherboard in for a ryzen r7, and use the cpu cooler that comes with the cpu (ryzen runs a lot cooler).

I actually changed the cooler today to Hyper212 Turbo, and still got the same problem, so I guess it's not the cooler? Something is really wrong, people with same specs and coolers don't get those high temps, and even I changed the whole possessor so I should have got something better but still...overheating.
