Core Temperature very high

Hello,i recently bought a Intel Core 2 Quad q6600 @ 2.40 Ghz from amazon and installed it with the stock intel heatsink fan with thermal paste for the first week it worked awesome but after that there is a problem with the temperature where the individual core temperatures are very high even at startup reaching 95 c whereas the cpu temperature is at 74 c the games i play are extremely laggy and unplayable when this happens.but when i keep my pc and wifi off overnight it seems to work fine in the morning,can someone help me on this issue i have attached the open hardware monitor stats in the image https://imgur.com/a/GibdTKg
here are my specs

Nvidia GT 730 2 gb gddr5
intel core 2 quad q6600 @ 2.40 Ghz
4 gb ddr2 ram
Windows 7 64 bit

might be that the stock intel heatsink isnt doing its job, had a Q6600 and it also was a hot little chip and I had aftermarket cooler

what paste did you use ? either you mounted it to tight and paste was pushed away or paste quality is bad.
Open, check if fan is spinning, take down and check if paste is not missing in the middle of CPU,
I would recommend arctic mx4 but pick anything from list, stay as close to top as possible:

the stock heatsink works great on my other cpu when i tested it

i put the thermal paste which was lying around my house i dont know about the company,my budget is too tight to get a new thermal paste,i opened the fan and found that the thermal paste is applied properly in the middle
