This is my first home built computer, please be gentle. The computers main use will be to run SolidWorks 2010 and then a little gaming. I have it spec out with the following: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-790FXTA-UD5 AM3 AMD 790FX 6Gb/s Graphic Card: ATI FirePro V5700 5123 MB Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB Memory Cards: A-DATA Gaming Series 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Could any one let me know if I am have anything that may be overkill or if there is anything I need to change to get a better match. Thank You JJZ

The mobo is way overpriced & overkill. I think you want USB 3? You know there are gonna be expansion cards for USB3 & SATA6. If your budget is tight, get this mobo:

Excellent choice of ram & OS.

Look into Samsung F3 1TB.

The FirePro will suck bad in gaming. I don't know what games you play & resolution. Until I do, I can't recommend any GPU. What's the budget for everything?
