Hello everyone,

I have this weird elusive problem with corrupted window borders on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits. The lines appear on the border of windows only when dragging the window vertically . The window border looks like it's flickering, it is very annoying. This happened after installing a new video card, the Asus EAH 6770 with ATI 6770 chipset. I tried reinstalling the video drivers, using driver sweeper between installs. The problem still remains. I tried CAtalyst 12.3, 12.4 with no results on fixing this problem. On the other monitor I have, and older Samsung with resolution 1280X1024, the problem does not appear.. Now on the newer monitor I have , an LG E2342 with 1920 X 1080 resolution, the problem does appear no matter what driver I use. I also tried tinkering settings from the Catalyst to no avail..this does look like a driver or software problem since with my previous card , an ATI 3650, all was good, so it's not the LG monitor either. The 6770 video card works flawless with games and other programs, the jagged lines do nit appear when dragging similar windows within games. Could someone please help me I really don't know waht other solution I could come up with? I did not try reinstalling the Windows 7 itself again, since that would be too much of a hassle.

So if someone could help or has come acroos this I would be really happy to get rid of this annoying issue.

Thanks and regards,
Andrew

Hi Sl4y3r, thank you for your answer. My refresh rate is 60 Hz. Yes that is what is being used, at least that's what is being shown in Catalyst and in Windows when i check the 'Monitor, information. What is really weird is that on the older monitor, the Samsung with 1280 x 1024 resolution, the bug does not happen. Now i did a lot of installing/unistalling of versions of Catalyst, but i did use Driver sweeper between installs. I am really puzzled about this one.

Yea.. seems strange.. Probably not the issue, but check all Windows updates are done and that your not using any DVI to VGA converter. Though very unlikely you could try the above.

I did not do all Windows updates indeed. However when i first installed windows it did not have this problem. Is it possible that some related to windows rendering is broken somewhere in the software? Can i check that somehow? I am using a DVI cable, no convertor from DVI to VGA or anythingm the signal is very good. Thanks
