Hey guys, my build has an asus sabertooth z97 mark 2 and i was wondering how many fans in total i can have on my pc case, 780t graphite by corsair. I was hoping for 2 infront, 1 in the back and 2 up top.

Solution
FAN hubs can be tricky. Phanteks is the only one that I know of that works with both PWM and DCV signals powering 3 pin DCV fans. I have been using them for about 18 months.... have 5 of them. The new NZXT one is better than the old one but was not able to get a description from the rep who visits here in just how it differs from the Phanteks.

Not sure how the TT one works.... Both Swiftech and ModMyToys have PWM to PWM ones. ModMyToys also has DCV to DCV ones.

You don't want to be ganging too many Corsair PWM fans on a single PWM hub as after 4 or 5, you start too lose speed control... Phanteks, Noctua, Swiftech PWM fans run just fine.

Remember the hub tho only works when you want all fans running at the same % of full speed...
Fan Mount Locations Front: (x3) 120mm or (x2) 140mm
Top: (x3) 120mm or (x2) 140mm
Rear: (x1) 120/140mm
Bottom: (x2) 120mm

This is from the website. I did not fully understand your question, when you give the name of your MOBO are you asking how many fans can you plug into it? Because the case says it comes with a fan controller.....i am not clear on what it is.

But in any case you can include as many fans as you want, you can just buy a Fan Hub

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999300&cm_re=fan_hub-_-11-999-300-_-Product

So you can basically plug in all the fans into it, just make sure the connections match. Or you can do what i did and get a fan cable splitter (i thing Hub is by far a better solution) so you can power 2 fans from one fan connector on the motherboard.

Fan hub seems to be much easier, check out NZXT H440 Case and how it utilizes fan hub, very convenient.

Tho no harm in having more than one .... I have 3 hubs

(6) Fans for 420 radiator
(4) Fans for 280 radiator
(5) Case Fans

My son has 2 hubs

Swiftech PWM hub controls pump and 2 fans from CHA_1 header
Phanteks hug controls all other 140mm case fans (4) from CHA_2
Front 200m fan controlled by CHA_3

Solution
Your manual will describe how many fan headers you have and how they function.

According to Asus web site, Sabertooth z97 mark 2 has:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_Z97_MARK_2/specifications/

1 x CPU Fan connector(s) (1 x 4 -pin) - typically CPU cooler fan
1 x CPU OPT Fan connector(s) (1 x 4 -pin) - typically CPU cooler 2nd fan
4 x Chassis Fan connector(s) (4 x 4 -pin) - covers 4 of your 5 fans
2 x Assistant Fan connector(s) (2 x 3 -pin) - covers 2 more (3 pin) fans
