Just got the Corsair CX430M. On the power supply unit, there is a connection labelled 6+2 PCI-E and 4+4 CPU. I am sure that the cable for my PCI-E goes into there. But what is the 4+4 CPU all about. Is that just a labelling mistake?
6+2 PCIE are for graphic cards , 4+4 is for CPU power.
Correct...but this is what's confusing me. Corsair provides 4 modular cables. 3 of the cables connect to the PSU with 6-pins. 1 of the cables connect to the PSU with 8-pins. The 8 pin modular cable is for PCI-E which I will use for my graphics card. However, once I do that, then there are no more 8 pin connector ports on the Power Supply unit. So I still don't know why they have a 4+4 CPU label there if it's going to be taken by the PCI-E. Here's a link to a picture to show you what I mean.
