Hey everybody, I have a problem with a new kit I bought this week

This is the Kit I bought

VENGEANCE® RGB RT 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600MHz C16 Memory Kit Corsair Link
When I try to run the ram with XMP enabled, it doesnt boot. I tried every speed between 3200 and 3600 but it only boots with 3200mhz
Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Here is my current setup
CPU : i5 6800k (running at 48x100mhz)
Motherboard : Asus TUF Z370-Plus Gaming (Bios date is 2018, havent updated since then)
Ram is currently running at 3200mhz 16-20-20-38 with 1.35V. They are installed on Slot 1 and 3

i5-8600K? 3600MHz was far from the 'norm' at the time, and the memory controller just may not be capable without pumping excessive voltage in.

I'd definitely start with a BIOS update, ~5 years will have seen quite a few improvements in memory speed/timings/general stability. There are 3600MHz kits on the QVL for the board (2x8 configs) - but I would be very surprised if they were on there from day #1.

Remember though, unless the specific kit appears on the QVL for the board, there's no guarantees. I'd be pretty confident you'll be able to get that kit running at 3600MHz post BIOS-update, but you may have to remove your CPU overclock initially, get XMP running, then dial back in the CPU OC, accepting you may find your 'limit' to be slightly lower.

Your ram should be in 2 and 4

Not that it's guaranteed to be an issue but none of the kits on the board QVL list with higher speeds have capacities over 8GB/stick. I think updating the BIOS and moving the memory to A2/B2 will likely solve the issue.
