Corsair H100i is annoying me!

I have the Corsair H100i in my system..

I previously had the Corsair H100, but sent it RMA.. They sent me back a Corsair H100i.. At first I thought it was nice, but since this doens't work well I don't think it's that nice......

Problem:
- I can't control the fans or pump at all with the program "Corsair Link 2" (Latest version)
- The fans just stop complete now and then..

What can I do to fix this?
I can't find any new firmware updates... Corsair Link 2 tells me that the Corsair H100i has version 1.0.5 which appears to be the latest firmware.

I can't find any fixes on google so far..

Please help....

It does actually show everything..
But it remains uncontrollably.
Most of the shown values are very unstable.

When IDLE the 2 fans show 1700 RPM when I've set them custom to run at 500~800 RPM at that temp (~23 C)
Now I'm running Prime95 temps hitting ~62C with a 4.2Ghz overclock on my i7 3770K.. And the RPM displays are flashing red and showing 1200RPM..

I'm not sure what I have to believe
Pump is also on 1200 now, IDLE is running 2200

The H100i temp (probably the sensor to measure the water temp) shows 24C idle, 22C on load...

Besides that, the entire "CorsairLINK 2" is pretty useless.. It does view my 2 GTX 680's temps and RPM's but if I set custom speeds, the RPM's remain untouched...
Am I overseeing a "Apply" button.. or is this entire program bugged as ****

I'm getting pretty annoyed from this program :S

I'm pretty sure everything is connected as it should.. Fans to the H100i, H100i to the USB header on my motherboard.

Without knowing every single thing that you have tried I will suggest uninstalling the software (Corsair Link 2) and before reinstalling empty the recycle bin and restart.
Because you have returned the previous version (H-100) did they give you a new cd as well ? Could there be a difference in the models, H-100 and H-100i that would require a different install cd?
Because of the different models I would do the uninstall and reinstall to see if by some chance that helps.

I have no install CD, I don't even have a CD/DVD reader in my PC.. I've downloaded the program, and have re-installed it before.. so that can't be the problem

However

In my devices there is 1 unindentified driver, it states that it's located at "Port_#0007.Hub_#0006"
I have connected my H100i to the USB hub 0006/0007 probably
I've seen that it's printed on the motherboard (usb06/usb07) or something, but also 08 and 09.. I only have 1 USB hub in use, and that is for my H100i

So it seemed very clear that my "H00i" is that unidentified device, and I need to install drivers
However, the hardware ID (USB\VID_045E&PID_0291&REV_0107) seems to be a "Xbox wireless reciever" which I also own.
But as far as I know, I had already installed it's drivers, and it's very unclear which drivers I should install now.

Is there anywhere I can download the H100i drivers? So far I've only found some firmware and the CorsairLINK2 program...

I have everything they say I need.
Drivers are installed
Newest Firmware
Newest CorsairLINK2 version

The program show the H100i temp, pump speed, led and both fanspeeds.
It allows me to set custom fanspeeds (which I did)
But it simply doens't work.........
the fans remain at 1761 RPM now, while my temp is 30 C

I've set:
20C = 500 RPM
30C = 800 RPM
40C = 1000 RPM
50C = 1500 RPM
60C = 2000 RPM

The pump remains at 2197 RPM and I don't change it's RPM.

Just found out that when I set the fanspeed to "Maximum" the RPM goes to 2020, and when I set it to "Default" it goes to 1952RPM.. "Quiet", "Balanced" and "Performance" modes all have RPM in the 1900-1980 range...
Only my "Custom Curve" lets it lower to 1761. If I set fixed RPM on anything lower than 1700, it still goes to 1761...
It looks like it doesn't allow me to go below 1761........ but what is the use of this if I can only set fanspeed between 1761 and 2020.. It hardly differs in sound

Have you tried posting in the Corsair forum ? I would think that you would get better answers there being it's a Corsair product.
When you say that the adjustments don't make ant difference in the sound does that mean that the sound is bothersome, too loud ?
When you said that the device has the latest firmware did you load it or did it come with it, one of the reviews that I read said that when people got this when it first came out it had firmware 1.0.3 and was loud and making noise and they updated to firmware 1.0.4 and that fixed it. Maybe you could download the latest firmware and even if it's the same just do a re-install a file could be corrupt and a reload could fix it. Also try a different usb port. Try reloading the video card drivers. Something could be conflicting with the firmware and needs to be fixed and a possible reload could do that.

I had the same issue with this CLC and much more, even my motherboard start reporting all kind of temperatures errors, just when i installed the Corsair Link software.
I think there are two solutions, just set up your new h100i like you had your old h100 without this bugged corsair link thing or what i did, just send it back where you bought it and take the money back and go for the noctua NH14.
Corsair H100i come out with some nice features, but they are poorly tested and let me thinking where was their quality control department.
After this experience i think i will only get one CLC if noctua make it, while NH14 ftw.

I'm really thinking this isn't a hardware issue..
I think this "CorsairLINK 2" is a fail program
The so called "Control" you get isn't even close to controlling. It's not only the CPU what's not controllable, also the GPU's which are shown, and shown as controllable, but this program has no effect on anything..........

I have MSI afterburner, what just adjust my GPU's fanspeed perfectly. But when I shut down Afterburner, it goes back to standard, and CorsairLINK 2 does nothing... just nothing..

I'm thinking of connecting the CPU fans to the motherboard then.. Would it work if I connect it to "CPU" and "CPU OPT"? But where do I connect my Corsair H100i to?
Our should I connect my H100i to the "CPU", 1 fan to "CPU OPT" and 1 fan to "CHA x" ?

The problem is that those are fan headers and that may be ok for the fans on the radiator but you have a pump in the cpu block and connecting that to a fan header is going to be a question of what will the bios do with it. The bios may not know it's a pump and think it's a slow fan if it goes by the rpms and if it can read the pumps rpms. You may have to get a separate speed controller for the pump unless you want to run it ast full speed all the time. The pumps I have in my system are on at full speed all the time but they are designed for that and while one of them does have a speed controller built in and I can select it to run at different speeds I leave it at the highest setting . They also don't make any noise.

The Corsair H100i cable to the CPU header is only 1 actual cable. I think it's only to let my motherboard know there is actually a fan on the CPU. The H100i also has his own power through a HDD power cable, and I think the pump speed is standard, or adjustable in the CorsairLink2 program..... if that would work -.- .....

But I'm not sure.

So you would have connected the H100i to the CPU fan, 1 fan to the CPU Optional fan, and 1 to a Chassis fan?

Well like I said I'm unsure what the bios would think of the pump, so I would have connected the two fans to the cpu fan headers. If the pump is not noisy then I would let it run at full speed and not be regulated at all.
The main cpu fan header is specificly designed to have the fan that's on the cpu heatsink connected to it so it can be controlled by the bios and speed up or slowed down according to the cpu temp. Recently because a lot of the cpu heatsinks are coming with two fans or have the option to add a second fan the MB makers have added a second optional cpu fan header that is also controlled by the bios and will speed up or slow down according to the cpu temp.

The fans plug into the H100i pump there is a fan splitter cable for the fans and there is a monitor lead to plug into a fan header. plug the usb lead into the pump and connect to a spare usb header on the board. I don't know what you are doing wrong but the Link2 software works perfectly, use the latest version 2.3.4816.

According to the Corsair forums, the Corsair SP120's I bought can't be controlled. I need the boxed fans to control the fanspeed. The rest of the CorsairLink 2 program works much better now. But only have 1 big problem: The LED on the pump... If I boot my PC, it doesn't always load the right settings.. The CorsairLink program does show the same pump, and the same settings, but it doesn't always get those colors..
Most of the time when I boot up, the led is pulsing red. When I selected blue 0C - 60C, and red 60C and higher.. The temps are all <30 C, so it has to be blue, also, when I select steady blue, the same problem occurs.
However.. now and then I boot my PC, and it does actually turn blue.. it's just very random atm
Thinking of a full reinstall of my Windows 8 soon

On my H100i, I'm using the 2 stock fans, and just connected 2 other fans last night, and the Link software has no issue with controlling the speeds. To me, it sounds like an issue with your unit. As another poster suggested, have you taken this issue into the Corsair forums?

I'm still convinced that I should re-install windows. I have the feeling that there are a lot of issues with my drivers and register. Unfortunately I have still not re-installed windows clean. I have one last school project I have to finish, my mind is set to do this after I finished and back-upped the data somewhere else (Also upgrading to Windows 8.1, since I got the license through MSDN Dreamspark from school). After that I will test it. I will use stock fans which were delivered in the box.

I have taken it to Corsair forums, which state that the Corsair SP120's I use could not be controlled by the Corsair H100i. However, this does not clear the problem with the LED on the unit. I'm hoping that a clean install with drivers, and updating my BIOS etc. will fix it.
