Ended up installing the Corsair link software and I looked at the rpm and they were about 1020 on both, but I looked it up on Corsair's website and they should be running at around 1400 rpm. I have the 2 fans hooked up to the h100i, could it be that they are running at a lower voltage? meaning why they run at a lower rpm?

Not at all, at 4.6gz on my 4770k I have a stable 70 temps at full load. And yeah I am using Corsair link for the fans, but they are set at maximum speed which is apparently 1020 rpm.

70c is pretty hot for that CPU. Low 70s is alright but anything more than that will prove to be problematic.

I have an SP120 Quiet Edition sitting here and just now using HWMonitor I got it to 1350rpm at 96% so I guess your software is preventing it from going faster. Honestly, most people don;t use Corsair Link, and just control the fans by other means.

Well it runs 70 exactly if not less when it's running a stress test. I doubt it well ever gets that hot while running games, since stress tests punish the cpu more than games. And the reason why I went with the Quiet edition fans, is because I wanted a quiet high performance pc. Should I just plug them into a fan header on my motherboard?

Most people just connect the fans to the CPU fan header via a splitter and set up some fan profiles that work best.

For quiet fans which are actually meant for radiators, look at the Rosewil Hyperbora or Gentle Typhoon. these are just as quiet as the sp120 quiet editions and offer 2x-3x the CFM and static pressure.

Well I went for the quiet Corsair fans, cause I was going to a matching cooler scheme. And they work fine, was just wondering why they weren't running at the correct rpm. Anyways we went really off topic.
