Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2400 with 3000 ram?

Hi there

Ive got a 8gb LPX 3000mhz stick from my brother, im running 2 x 4 gb LPX 2400mhz ddr4 on my Gigabyte B250-HD3 Mobo, can I run the 2 x 4 2400 ram sticks with the 1 x 8 3000mhz ddr4 together, i will there be a problem?

With a luck 2x4 will run dual channel and 8 will run shycronized mode (single). Other you might see perfomance dip, incompatibility and etc.
Well since you have it, try it out. You wont damage anything.

^ 4+4 in 1 channel , & 8 in the other 'should' run straight out dual channel no issue.

The 3000mHz stick is going to downclock to 2400mHz though.

Thanks for the reply, I tested it and its not even booting with the 2 x 4 and the 1 x 8. If I run only the 2x4 or only the 1x8 then it boots but not together.
