Hello
Specs
Motherboard MSI Tomohawk Max 2 B450
CPU AMD 5700G
GPU Pallit 4090
32 GB Ram corsair
1tb Samsung980 SD
NZXT Kraken z3 AIO
10 Lian Li infinity fans
i built this pc almost 2 years ago and it has run fine. Its on all day everyday and i game on it, stream, surf etc.
A couple of days ago i turned it on in the morning and the CPU temo immediately ran up to about 86 and slowly continued to climb. I panicked and turned it off.
I did some research and it suggested that the thermal paste may need replacing. Or it may be the cooling system.
I have cleaned off and re-applied new thermal paste, carefully reseating the AIO each time. I have cleaned out the fans and vacuumed the case and fans and AIO radiator, cleaning away all dust and dirt. I have updated drivers on the CPU.
It still idles from boot at around 70°C.
I have checked the temperature of the liquid in the AIO and it is 51°C. I have checked the temperature of both the pipes on the AIO and they both feel cool to the touch. Ive noticed the Kraken Z73 display isnt displaying the GPU temperature even tho it shows it on the app? Only the CPU temoerature, which ive confirmed is correct using MSI app.
Im thinking either my CPU or AIO are done for.
Any help? Is the AIO borked? Im skint at the mo would just a regular fan cooler be ok for the CPU? I have an old basic fan.
Thanks
