[SOLVED] CPU and DRAM Debug LED won't turn off and PC won't POST after I upgraded my CPU

Hello

I've recently upgraded my Ryzen 5 1400 to a Ryzen 5 2600. When I turn on my PC the fans and everything work but the Debug LEDs for the CPU and DRAM are on and the monitor won't receive any signal.

I've checked every single cable, tried one RAM stick at once, checked if there were any bent CPU pins, removed the CMOS but it makes no difference. It's driving me crazy...

Here's my system:

Motherboard: MSI B350 PC Mate
GPU: Inno3d GTX 1070 8GB
RAM: 2×4GB Ballistix Sport DDR4 + 1×4GB Fury HyperX DDR4
Power Supply: Corsair VS450

I had the same built with a overclocked Ryzen 5 1400 before and everything worked out perfectly.

(Also this may help: When I turn on the PC, first the CPU Debug LED goes on, 10 seconds later the DRAM LED goes on as well)

I'm not quite sure if I updated the BIOS. Yeah I still got the 1400. Would you suggest that I should reinstall it even though I don't have any heat paste in order to update the bios? Or is there an alternative to update the BIOS?

I reinstalled 1400 without heat paste which turned out not to be a problem, and I downloaded the latest BIOS version. I've ended up connecting my PC to my TV as I couldn't enter the BIOS through my monitor, which was somwhat a pain in the ass to figure out. I installed the latest BIOS version, replaced the 1400 with the 2600 and it was detected! I can finally boot up my PC normally again and everything functions perfectly well.

Thank you very much for your help. I feel so relieved right now. 😀

I use the stock cooler which comes with preapplied heat paste on it.
