Cpu and dram LEDs flash red

I recently added 2x4gb ram to my system so it's 16gb in total. However when I turn on my pc the cpu and dram LEDs flash red for 2 seconds and then my whole system turns off... I tried taking out the old ram or taking out the new ram but my pc still isn't posting... I've checked that all power connectors are connected and that all hardware is seated correctly but it's still not working.

Anyone know how to make my pc work again?

Reset your CMOS - either with the jumper or take the CMOS battery out for 5-10 seconds..
