Hi all

I've not upgraded anything on my gaming rig for quite a while so I'm about to buy Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Super and would like a bit of advice on what else I need to upgrade if possible please?

My currents specs are:

MSI GTX 980
I5 4690k
MSI Z97 Gaming 3 Mobo
8gb RAM

I guess the CPU would bottleneck the new GPU? If so, what CPU would be a good purchase and would I need to get a new Mobo? I've been looking at a Ryzen 2600x and Gigabyte B450m Gaming bundle - would that be a decent choice if I was to look at gaming 1440p in the future (I'm 1080p at the moment).

Many thanks in advance!

Make and model of your PSU and it's age? You'll be fine with a R5 2600 but I'd suggest getting a R7 2700x or even a 300 series processor to pair with that board. You will also need a dual channel DDR4-3200MHz ram kit to get the best out of your Ryzen platform.

Thanks for your quick reply - much appreciated.

I've got a Corsair CX600 PSu that's about 4 years old.
I'm going to get the
Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000Mhz DDR4 RAM as well.
