CPU Bent Pins Question

So I recently bought a CPU from Newegg, And some of the Pin were bent/Broken. I was able to unbend the ones I could and get my Computer too boot, and everything Seemed fine, except Even though the CPU was Quad Core, No matter what I did, It would act like a Dual Core. I recently did a RMA, and I'm waiting for the replacement, assuming it had something to do with the damaged pins. I just wanted to know could the bent pins affect my CPU not using cores?

I would not even use it and return it together with whole package. How did your pin got bent? They are usually secure when transport.

Actually, pins were damaged on Arrival, surprisingly. Can't say I was surprised though, my overall experience with Newegg was pretty bad for my order. Thanks for the response.
