CPU BLACK SCREEN STARTUp

So intel sent me a brand new i5 6600k because the one I had kept acting up but when I put in the new one my computer starts up load then the screen goes completely black and the mouse and keyboard turn off.

So then I put my old CPU back into the motherboard and the samething happens again.

My PC was running perfectly fine this morning up until now when I changed the old CPU ago the new one...

Is there anything specific you have to do to the PC/motherboard when you're exchanging the CPUs?

there is no configuration you'd need to do anywhere if you are swapping out the same model cpu. check that you havent bent any pins on your mobo socket. i know its a silly question, but you are trying it with the heatsink installed correct?

Everything is on correctly

I just ran the PC in safe mode and it turned on fine

ah didnt really understand that it got as far as the safe mode option from "my computer starts up load". have you tried a normal boot now that safe mode worked? safe mode may have corrected it.
