Question CPU Bottleneck With high FPS

So i just bought a new GPU (RTX 2060) and paired it with my i5-8500, i have checked multiple times before i bought the GPU if i will have a bottleneck and it said no and that i will have 7% bottleneck.
right now every game i play can reach high performance (for example i managed to run cyberpunk 2077 with ultra setting with smooth fps) but the problem is that when i check my task manager my cpu usage is very high (85%-100%) and my gpu is (0%-5%) this has bothered me as my fans go crazy.
I'm desperate to find a solution because i cant gaming at peace while this keep happening.

this is my specs : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dY2QfP

you need to cap your FPS otherwise your cpu will just work itself to death on uneeded frames. what resolution do you game at and what monitor do you have?? but i wouldnt think your 8500 would bottleneck a regular 2060 that bad.. i havent checked up on cyberpunk to see if its CPU or GPU intensive but id say its CPU after reading your post.

what resolution are you gaming at
what are your FPS and what detail
and is your GPU staying at those low usages while under full gaming loads??

just saw your spec page, if your gaming at 1080p and only have a 60-hertz refresh rate monitor, cap your FPS at 60 as you don't need to go much over for obvious reasons, you should see your CPU usage drop drastically.. as well as no need to go full send on the detail levels. id go about medium/high at most, not ultra as you won't really benefit from it with your current monitor setup, but that's my personal opinion, I'm sure somebody else will say something different.

my resolution is 1920x1080
my fps can go up to 120
and yes my gpu does stay low while gaming

limit your FPS to 60 and see what your CPU usage does then, your 120 FPS is just taxing your CPU more as you only have a 1080P 60 hz monitor, should calm things down a bit

also double check you have the latest nvidia drivers installed

go to userbenchmark and do a "test" and post your score back here so we can compare what your 2060 is doing vs my old setup, and everyone elses. this will also let us know if you have any sort of hardware/software problem as you wont be anywhere near others benchmarks, but if your even with everyone or around theirs, then id say everything is good to go and its a CPU intensive game

There will ALWAYS be a bottleneck with something! Strike perfect balance is hard. If you are satisfied with your gaming experience then there is no problem..

absolutely, but a max cpu usage and almost zero gpu usage is not indicative of "no problem" under load while gaming at 120fps in a brand new title should cause ANY gpu to go above 0-5% usage as stated in original post

With Cyberpunk 2077 it's a bug or whatever. You can't have 5% graphics usage and have 60+ fps, logical... or maybe your 2060 is 3 times as powerful as 3090?

as i stated before, i agree that is not normal, OP is this solely with cyberpunk or does this occur with other games as well? and task manager is horrible for showing usage, i personally love coretemp for my usage/temps as its way more realistic than task manager. I got a PC in the shop the other day whos owner had a 10900k and saw 80% usage minimum while gaming in task manager, but when i checked it out using coretemp it was 20-ish% less which is ideal. not saying its always wrong, but ive never trusted task manager, nor ever use it

This happens with other games as well

according to your build specs.. unless its wrong...you have 16gb (2x8gb sticks) at 2666mhz, some faster clocked memory will definitely increase performance some, like a pair of 3000,3200mhz sticks, but as far as 16gb goes, you have enough to play games on as thats the norm right now, the issue youre have is not ram related. something else is happening as your hitting normal frame rates with almost NO GPU usage at all which is nuts!

please run a test on userbenchmark and post the results
