CPU causing my mouse lag?

Hello, I've had my PC for about a year and a half now. However, overtime I've noticed input lag in every game I play.


Could this be my CPU? I use my PC A LOT. Pretty much every day.For gaming, mostly, and video rendering and encoding.

SPECS
AMD FX4100 @ 3.6GHz
GTX 660 2GB
8GB RAM

Could it be that my CPU is wearing out?
Or does it have something to do with mouse polling rates?

My mouse is set to 125ghz

I don't think it is polling at 125ghz probably just hz. You can try lower the polling rate, which may improve response, but reduce accuracy (by a very tiny amount, probably unnoticeable under most circumstances).

The mouse could also be wearing out like oczdude said. If it came with special drivers, a reinstall of them may be in order. You could also run an antivirus/malware program to see if yuor PC has picked something up.

It might sound obvious, but if you haven't yet tried it use a different USB port if the mouse is USB.

Also could you list your motherboard model, it could be a common problem or just a compatibility issue.

In addition, have you tried any other mice? It could be an issue with the mouse itself.

I never noticed mouse lag with my first mouse. But I don't have that anymore. Also, I only just recently really started to notice it. It's not like I got my new mouse and I had input lag. It only became apparent over time.

And yes, I only notice it while gaming.

No, I never have V-sync on. I even forced it off in the Nvidia Control Panel

I wouldn't say so as most modern monitors take 15-30ms to respond. But still a possiblity. What is the model
