CPU cooler max height

My case has a max cpu cooler height of 165mm and I was wondering if a
Hyper 212 evo would work.

It will easily fit the EVO is only 159mm.

The Hyper 212 Evo is 159mm tall so you're good to go. I would suggest taking a look at the Cryorig H7 cooler if you'd like to jazz it up a bit. The Coolermaster has been overused and for that price-performance point the Cryorig H7 is a great air cooler.
